Bang It

Toronto Canada's, Mike Conradi is a dedicated DJ and local legend. He seamlessly showcases Techno, House, and Breaks, and a little Electro thrown if for the party. This latest mix features loads of Toronto producers including Jelo, the Phat Conductor, and night queen Sydney Blu.

Putting this up for the Saturday night pleasure seakers, maybe even a little after-party bumper.

Khoda

Description:
What if you watch a film and whenever you pause it, you face a painting? This idea inspired Reza Dolatabadi to make Khoda. Over 6000 paintings were painstakingly produced during two years to create a five minutes film that would meet high personal standards. Khoda is a psychological thriller; a student project which was seen as a ‘mission impossible’ by many people but eventually proved possible!

Having a Little Fun Today

Manuel Osbourne-Paradis placed Third at Val Gardena, Italy today in FIS World Cup ski racing. The videos aren't up yet, but here is is 3rd place finish on the treacherous Lauberhown course in Wengen, Switzerland at the end of last season. The announcers are awesome.

Wonky Business!! Reprise

Another fine mix (kinda exclusive) coming from our gal Hannah Holland. It has been a big year and 2009 promises to be even BIGGER. Watch for wonky bangers on Batty Bass Records. Perfect balance between club and the underground, and still pioneering and engineering the movement each awakened day. Absolutely fabulous!

Hannah Holland - Can You Dance To My Beat? Dec 08 Mix (ZShare)

1. “THE BIG STEF” – SOLO
2. WHAT CANTO IS IT? – MIKE MONDAY BOOTLEG
3. MY ANGELIC DEMONS – JUSTIN MARTIN
4. CHOP – BINGO PLAYERS
5. GENERATION NOISE FEAT. BOOGSHE (AFROJACK REMIX) – LAIDBACK LUKE, ROMAN SALZGER

7. RHYTHM INSURANCE – CHAIM
8. TANZBOMBE (ROBAG WRUHME REMIX) – ROBAG WRUHME, PASCAL FEOS
9. THE CUT – BENGA
10. FLOOR DEM – CASPA

Wonky and catchy. Definately had me dancing around my room today with the mix on repeat. Something new I've been trying - really allows to leave the room and come back throughout the day and still be entertained. I'd have more to write about, but this move is draining me. Back to head bobbin' and dutchin'

DJ Zinc Grows Farther

Under my limited intake of Jungle and Drum and Bass DJ Zinc is one artist that tops my list. Classic take on complex rythems and dedicated showcasing of the music. He's been around a while and eventhough he reigned, and might still reign, the top of the DnB DJs, his new twist in influence comes not from a funky broken-beat. But rather the 4/4 line of House music.

I'm not complaining. My tastes towards DnB have diminished over time (unless the DJ is extremely intricate and talented in his mixing and track selection.) So Zinc plays House. Or Funky, or UK Funky. Great! Keep reaching new audiences and growing with the music.

What is Funky?
It feels to me a bit like UK garage, except it’s a bit more 4/4. The UK take on house often is grittier. I guess it’s because British people have been listening to lots of reggae and jungle, so they bring those elements.

Read the Red Bull Music Academy Interview with Zinc for his view on his growth as a musician. Which it truly is: growth. Instead of staying in a stagnant situation, he furthered his approach and updated witht he music. Impressive, intriguing, and instyle.

EXCUSE ME

While I Dance.

Mr Scruff

Drum and Bass king Andy C's downtempo beats. Under the guise of Mr Scruff, his jazzy dub lines and quirky melodies hit that sweet spot. It's the morning, just listen to the music.. me too tired to write. Although he has a cute website.

Dance Advance

Sander van Doorn (NL) teams with Brit's Robbie Williams. What a suprising mix of two well-known artists. It is quite a good tune. The music video is alright, it definately has that Hed-Kandi commercial feel. The video itself is not released on the networks as of today, but a leak has sprung up:

Sander van Doorn and Robbie Williams - Close my Eyes

Likewise, it is a thrill to see van Doorn back in the spotlight. After his attempts at pushing off DVDJing throughout the 2007-2008 Winter season he is back to production and DJ sets. Best club-party of my life - Sander van Doorn at Rum Runners in London, Ont. Massive set, non-stop driving bass and great track selection.

Well the man who put Trance back into the spotlight with his dark twists and pings is re-championing his definitive sound. Watch for his releases. Any of you willing travel to Miami Winter Music Conference expect a showing of supreme selection and sectioning of his sets to get the crowd infused and lifted.

Sander van Doorn - Clubbin' - SlamFM LIVE on 11/29 (MegaUpload)

What an amazing mix! Trance can be iffy, but I know some out there still claim it to their heart.

What Would We Do?

Hot Chip and Wiley - What Would We Do? LIVE at Glastonbury 2008.

Suprised I found this on a CHAN forum. I only thought they knew the buzzing sound coming from their mother's clit/vibrator.

WWWD is the opening of the Glasto set by Hot Chip. Albums are great, but weave those tunes together and that is something performers and artists do. This was truly the break up of popularized techniques in marketing (MTV, YouTube) in 2008. The festival season showed these breakthrough artists in light, where the television painted them as you gotta be real cool to like this music.

Truth to say - the people who like the music do not deviate. We create.

Art can't exist without followers. But followers should know they are not apable of the full understanding of the artist. This want to know more is called intrigue. Not a trend.
