Santurday's Links

Have you ever watched the X-Treme Slip n' Slide video? As a sequel to the debauchery, Large chick gets pulled by a jet-ski and takes off - helicoptering in the air. It's a perfect example of physics!

I've been following College Humor for much of a decade. Lately, with the help of intuitive designers, comedy writers, new media specialist, HD video.. blah, blah, blah. They're original viral videos are hilarity! Prank wars is unstoppable, vimeo's great HD capabilities and upload limits are close to the top of the list in terms of free service, and here's video of me failing off a rope swing three years ago.

Can't wait for Summer!

Jon Bob LIVE Free Broken Beat Mix

at Broken Science (direct link)
04-16-09

Intense and amazing! Complete smash-up of broken beats and glitch noise. Live from Halifax, Canada on Broken Science. The man has fine production ability. My guess is that much, if not all, material he plays is his own production. He's a fucking unicorn alright.

Pac Man Trashes French Market

Another vid from French public prank star Remi Gaillard.

It's hilarious! Too funny when they all fall over each other at the end, right into security. LOL! And for you footy fans, here's Remi's football skills.

Mother Earth's Bar Tricks

Cloud streets are rows of cumulus clouds aligned by low lying streams of wind. This example was filmed and photographed over Sea of Okhotsk in Summer of 2007.

And of course video evidence.

This Google Image Search shows more varied examples. Neat how such things happen. Maybe God was combing his Mother Earth's hair? Woaaaah.. Why don't God fearing and God praising people, or the God makers, start looking after the only planet we've got? As with the rest of us! I tend to think, and maybe act in selfish ways of convenience. But that's why Earth Day and events like Earth Hour are there to help remind us of our duty to respect our planet.

A BIT OF OBSERVATIONAL FYI: Calgary has recently begun implementing a blue-box recycling program. Everyone who's received their blue box is excited. Single-stream bins that eventually get processed into recyclable materials. Being true innovators, most communities in Ontario have had the program for up to 20 years! Good to see it happen here, however. I'm sure the drive to the community depots with week/month old recyclables was pleasant.

PS. It's very exciting for Earth week to be starting off on 4-20-09! :)

NYLON TV - Bat For Lashes

Repeating in my iTunes for the past week has been the sensual and surrealist songs from Brighton singer/songwriter Bat For Lashes. For gray days and sunny days I highly recommend her albums Fur and Gold and Two Suns.

Short and intimate interview with NYLON TV.
