M-Audio - XSessionPro Midi Controller

Recently I became a repetitive buyer of legally obtained music. iTunes didn't fare as well as I'd hoped and any site that needs external players is just a time waster, so we've settled with Beatport.com. If you spend any time inside a club or mature young demographic you have seen, or heard (pun def. intended, rewrote this sentence biaaatch) about Beatport. The site offers a varried and deep selection of current and cutting edge dance and electronic sounds. Cutting edge being the key - many local-international talent pools are emerging as top players in legally obtained dance music. But digital options differ widely; their quality, wave form, and availability are determining factors in choosing to purchase music and choosing to download less standardised trash.

The m-audio X-SessionPro midi controller allows DJ options in laptop portability. It is light weight and has a variety of tittilating knobules and faders. Shoooop Shoooop!

By syncronising hand-moven actions to an .MP3 software package, such as Traktor DJ Studio or Ableton Live, it allows a person to be a DJ without highly expensive equiptment. Download samples, loops, effects, any sonic tool, and you're already climbing the charts!

Reverse Graffiti - Part 2

I remembered this video from a while back, it has made the rounds but adds variety to the last post.

"Once you do this, you make people confront whether or not they like people cleaning walls or if they really have a problem with personal expression." -Paul "Moose" Curtis

Moose - Reverse Graffiti

British street artist Moose subtracts from worn streetscapes to create spectacular fleeting urban masterpieces. The application of stencils over street grime allows the crud to be partially washed away with a little elbow grease and a hose, leaving behind images of stark contrast.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Battlefield: Heroes - MMPORPG of 08

My interest in video games is minimal. Battlefield: Heroes looks to change that. User-friendly, skill level equality, and a cartoon design are all reasons I would play. None of that BOOM: HEADSHOT! business. Why don't you join the army if you can shoot 152/75?

The trailer,

Thanks Sean!

Mike Conradi - Tone Def

Fronting new electro sounds Toronto, Canada's own Mike Conradi precisely blends a comforting mix. Contending top honours Mike benefits from the prime Canadian House industry. Techy, minimalistic soundscapes roll with funky flat beats. A definate want for the music-pod headliner.

Anyone hearing Mike Conradi at Cutting Edge M.Fest, one can only wait and see. Note: Destiny has not released the DJ line-up as of yet. Get those emails in!

Highlights of Love Parade 2007

My friend Cristina will love this, as Love Parade is amongst the best festival-parties in the world. Thousands arrive to celebrate love, life and long lasting air horns. I am also noting the Tunnel Soundsystem

You Don't Wear the Ribbon?

Nah, it's just a ribbon. I think it is silly. As silly as the tracks thrown down in this mix from Bok Bok and Manara?

Dub heavy, electro clash bass. Wobble tune, kick step. Just released on Friday 13th of June - fresh-picked mint. Thumbs up to the No Love Lost crew, keep bringing like you do.

While not a complete fan of Dub Step, I do enjoy the fresh notes and basslines. Its blend with House and Breaks takes both worked genres to another dimenion, and I know it makes me dance heavy on the floor. Can't wait to kick it!

Stop the Violence

KRS One speaks on MC's selling out. KRS is a heavy-hitting lyracist, and although I have not heard as much diversity and range from him as some readers, I understand and connect with the amount I have been shown or have listened to. An MC, who's still around, and one of Hip Hop's finest,

Much respect.
I had primarily listened to KRS One from my brother's mixtapes and CD's up until college. So about 5-6 years ago, and the first track I heard KRS over top of Goldie UK drumm and bass styles. One of those artists who is multi genre, really and truly MC's from the heart, the soul.

Old school, classic timing of his ryhmes, Stop the Violence was established at the peak of the 80's, and a bad time in violence in the Hip Hop community. Wikipedia will allow you to learn more.

The original, funky 80's Hip Hop.
KRS One - Stop the Violence

The remastered, and cameo'd 2008 vesion is far away in comparison to the 80's version, in my opinion. Not that the message is any different, but early Hip Hop is gold compared to today's injection-molded plastic music. What really turned me off it was Chamillionaire's /sp?? bad verbal skills, and impressive desire to continue.

Binge Like Woah

I am on a huge broken beat binge right now. Real organic, laidback grooves. Enjoy.

Current Value - Fear

High Contrast - Everything's Different

High Contrast's rolling Drumm and Bass is perfect for Sunday laze around. My endeavours are to find a set, and munch on raw fruit and berries to get my vitamins back. Cheerio!

Da Designer's Dream

What do other designers think of a usb colour-swatch reader? Places like Home Repot and Rona have them for their latex paints, but the technology could be used in the design industry. Instant colour swatches, web-ready Hexi-Code, and database-driven colour profiles would be all the rage. Or should I say radiance?

And...

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, DAD!

Steely Dan - Reelin' In the Years

Minor and Questionable

Again, juxtaposition of great animation and a decent tune making one incredible video. Go Vikings! You shoot music out your tuba! Animated by Joel Trussel and music written and performed by Jason Forrest of CockRockDisco.
