We post about these guys alot. But they are such a fun and energetic performance and one of the best rock acts to come from England in recent months.


They got their big break after sending in a demo in a pink cardboard sleeve with The Ting Tings scribed in Sharpie. They were introduced on Glastonbury's Introductory Stage in 2007, and followed in 2008 on the Other stage.

The name comes from a Chinese colleague of (singer Katie) White's at a boutique, who told her the name meant "an old bandstand" in Mandarin. In Japan, the name means "small, cute penis", leading some to believe that has helped their success in that country. Wikipedia

Tittsworth defines dirty street-club music. Subliminal mixing perfect for the club. When asked his planning of setlists:

“I’ll start familiar or groovy and try to climax it at the end with something super energetic and then maybe segue out with guilty pleasures. If the groovy stuff is boring them, you have to step up the energetic a little faster. I might like to pound the energetic stuff or just climax for an hour, but certain crowds don’t have the threshold for that: it’s too much for them, or it’s too noisy, or too fast for them. So you end up having to do a cyclical wave sort of thing where you go in and out, in and out, as opposed to a linear ramp up. I keep a loose strategy in mind, but I don’t believe in hard set rules.”
