BEST PODCAST - Batty Bass Radio

Timing and taste is everything for this award! People crave good, upfront music and the efforts to release one mini-mix a month won this award. Not only that, if you manage to download all the casts you'll see the development of a truly unique sound called Batty Bass.

Today, Hannah Holland has released the 13th edition of
Batty Bass Radio << Click to Subscribe!

Hannah's Bastard Batty Bass podcast blends the latest & greatest underground club tunes into pre-event hype. Representing her monthly club's flavour, the 20-or-so minute cast is perfect for myPods. Thousands tune into the sound of wobbly head-bobbing bass - expansive and inclusive of many genres: a bit of Techno and House, Progressive, NY Garage, Baile Funk, B'More, Jungle, and the environmental depths of Dub-Step. It has even been ranked in the Top 5 subscriptions on Podbean - climbing past 100,000 other casts!!

The ferocious sound-sisters Hannah Holland, Mama Shamone, and MC Chickaboo blast patrons with street smashers and quirky MCing, in an environment of creative and clashing culture. Batty Bass' two years of monthlies have made the first Thursday of the month a must-do on London UK's club calendar.

Outside the monthly, miss Holland is regularly called up to the decks at the infamous Bugget Out parties and has taken her skills to such clubs as London's Fabric, Ibiza's Space and Manumission, the great Exit Festival in Serbia, and more recently traveling down-under. The tuned unique sounds of Batty Bass have reached a global audience.

Any North American promoters that want to drown their crowd in bassy-sound, Hannah is looking for bookings in June~ish 2009.

Kap Bambino - French Indie Thrashers

Charging out of Bordeaux, France, Kap Bambino powered through 2008 with intense vocals from Caroline Martial and electro-thrash mixes from the hands of Orion Bouvier. Their full throttle performance meets independent spirit and the pair have been touring their show through the global underground all year. At the same time they have been releasing tracks on their fully hands-on label, WWILKO - including all artwork and recordings.

Sample their material and bold quirk:

The Ting Tings UPDATE

The video is back up! Earlier today the new video for the US release of That's Not My Name had errors with sound/video sync. Although embeds are disabled you can catch the video on YouTube!

The Ting Tings are the Breakthrough Artists of 2008

Playing and pushing their performances for two years since their debut at 2007 Glastonbury Festival on BBC's Introductory stage, The Ting Tings played massive sold out shows, toured the world, and are now being recognised for their astounding, seemingly simplistic efforts. One of the most posted and exciting journeys to watch. We knew the UK duo would reach the masses in 2009, and now releasing a redone video for That's Not my Name, they are certainly the breakthrough artists from start and onwards. Best in 2009!

Post Posting Script: As expected the video was removed two hours after its release. This is just our ability to get the goods before others. In replacement I've sampled some of my favourite vids (that I can get in my territory) below:

Hands down! This bassy award goes to DJ Cure for his work with Aufect Recordings, his local promotion work, and his talents behind the decks. You can read more about Cure, and download this chunky and grimey mix that sealed the deal:
