The Conservation Hour - or Longer

Each week a section of a schedule is taken to conserve and converse a non-wasteful block of time. The Conservation Hour can be applied to teams - work places or social gatherings, or as an individual. Everyone puts more thought into the tasks they perform and the collective reduction is a satisfying result of a good time. A quick idea I have is candles and cocktails for the first hour of a social gathering. Post your comments and suggestions anonymously or with your GMail/Blogger account.

In the individual platform - an hour before bed with the television, computer, stereo and other non-essentials unplugged, perhaps supplemented with yoga or reading.

A friend, Megan, wrote:

I think that some of us don't even realise the energy that we use in even just simple appliances - such as speakers or satellite receivers being left on after the television is flicked off; scented wall outlet plug-ins. One of mine is leaving the baby monitor on when Leona isn't sleeping.
Very well put.

Electro-Magnetic-Frequency ( EMF ) Pollution

  • EMF pollution on humans is as severe as any pollution, in any system.
  • Earth's molten core pulsates - resulting in many geo-phenomena: earthquake, mountain range, volcano, tsunami... Image: the Core of Earth.
  • Disruption of our natural electronic synchronisation is harmful to our health.

Supplementation

Naturally Grounded,

Computers,

and More.

holy eff.

your literature needs to be made public!

it's not just a "blog" or an opinion, it's factual material that needs to be considered beyond any kind of simple acquaintance or friend.

word needs to be spread and NOT just from television broadcasts or nearly erasable newspaper print.. my belief is that it needs to be made REAL and applicable to the average consumer.

we have specialty magazines, websites, and underground papers, but what we need is a realistic & public way to make these issues more renownedly accepted as REAL concerns rather than seeming as more radical ideas and/or as something that someone else can address.

people realize and understand the concern for environmental well-being but continue on believing that turning off just even one of their electrical uses for even just an HOUR will make no beneficial use to the entire worldwide population.

even the nation-wide, not to mention, world-wide "Earth Hour" seems useless, and on a personal level for consumers, it seems detrimental to their personal lives and agendas. why would the typical north american middle-class family take on such an "abominable" idea that interrupts their safe and constant televised lifestyle? why would they care about the environment when they have mortgages, insurance, college loans, bills, and groceries to pay for?

maybe it's time not for just an environmental change, but a complete MENTAL change in society for anything to make an effect upon over-consumption, dollar bills, and abuse of natural resources.

the earth has given us all that we need to sustain. why do we ask for more?
