The Ting Tings

We post about these guys alot. But they are such a fun and energetic performance and one of the best rock acts to come from England in recent months.


They got their big break after sending in a demo in a pink cardboard sleeve with The Ting Tings scribed in Sharpie. They were introduced on Glastonbury's Introductory Stage in 2007, and followed in 2008 on the Other stage.

The name comes from a Chinese colleague of (singer Katie) White's at a boutique, who told her the name meant "an old bandstand" in Mandarin. In Japan, the name means "small, cute penis", leading some to believe that has helped their success in that country. Wikipedia
